Burt Brothers Tire & Service in Riverton, Utah

I have been going to Burt brothers for may years for various items for repairs. They have been pretty good to work with and seemed to have done a good job. I took our SUV to them a few months ago for spark plugs. I purchased the plugs and could thinking I would have time to do this. Well, I didn't so I asked them to do it. They did and it seemed ok until the engine started to make a ticking/clicking sound in the engine. I dropped it off a few weeks ago to have them take a look and see what the issue was. About an hour later the call indicated that it was internal and I needed a new engine. Needless to say, I asked for a second opinion as a new engine is expensive. I was told the coil was causing the ticking. Well, I took off the coils and checked the plugs and noticed that 3 of the 8 were loose. I tightened them and the ticking went away. Something so simple yet I was told I needed to have an engine replaced. I called them today and let them know the issue. They didn't acknowledge that it could have been the tech not tightening the plugs but first brought up that I supplied the plugs. No issues with the plug but an install issue in my opinion. They did say they would tighten them if they are loose again. Reason for the lower rating is the fact they were quick to say it was an engine issue and said it should be replaced when the real issue was easy to fix...just a little tightening of the plugs. Always get a second opinion with major repairs.

Great experience. I have a Jeep Rubicon and Burt Brothers put a 3 inch lift, 18" wheels, and 35" Good Year tires. It looks so sick, exactly what it needed. I got recommendations and was able to see computer renderings of what it would look like before I purchased. They looked even better after they were on and had a little mud on 'em.
